What Is the Healthy Pet Deductible?

Embrace offers the industry’s best diminishing deductible feature included with every policy at no extra charge.

The Healthy Pet Deductible program will be changing to a Healthy Pet Premium Discount program. This means that you now have the opportunity to earn a 5% monthly premium discount in the first year you qualify for the program, and 10% in the second year. If you currently have a Healthy Pet Deductible discount on your policy, you will see it reflected on your pet's page in your online customer portal. Initially, the discount will be rolled out to a select number of states, and we are working diligently to make it available to all members as quickly as possible.


What is Healthy Pet Deductible?

With Healthy Pet Deductible, your pet's annual deductible is automatically reduced by $50 each year that you don't receive a claim reimbursement.

We'll automatically apply any Healthy Pet Deductible credits you've earned when you're eligible for reimbursement.

Once you receive an accident or illness claim reimbursement greater than your current Healthy Pet Deductible credit, the Healthy Pet Deductible credit resets to zero for your next policy year.

Healthy Pet Deductible applies only to accident and illness claims. Wellness Rewards claims for routine care are handled separately.


New Healthy Pet Discount

The Healthy Pet Discount Program is replacing our Healthy Pet Deductible Program.

You’ll now have the chance to earn a 5% monthly premium discount in the first year you qualify and 10% in the second year, for each pet enrolled in an accident and illness plan. These discounts will be automatically applied to your account monthly if you qualify and auto-calculated if you pay annually.

What is the healthy pet discount program?

The healthy pet discount program is a new program at Embrace Pet Insurance that rewards policyholders with healthy pets. If your reimbursements from Embrace are less than $300 per pet, per year prior to the discount period, you qualify! This program replaces our Healthy Pet Deductible program.

How do I know if I qualify to receive the Healthy Pet Discount?

Your premium discounts will be automatically calculated and applied, whether you pay monthly or annually! The discount is calculated and added at renewal, and begins on the start date of the new policy year.

How does the healthy pet discount program work?

We want to reward you for your healthy pets! If your pet has claims reimbursements of $300 or less in the year prior to the discount period (based on claim processing date), they will automatically qualify for the discount. The discount starts at 5% in the first year and increases to 10% in the second year, per pet.

How do I know if I qualify for the healthy pet discount?

The discount will automatically be applied to your monthly premium or your annual payment, so you don’t have to do any guessing…or math!

Is The Healthy Pet Discount Plan available for both accident and illness policies and wellness plans?

The Healthy Pet Discount only applies to accident and illness policies and is not applicable to wellness.

Is this discount stackable with other discounts? For example, can I receive the multi-pet discount and the Healthy Pet Discount?

You're welcome to stack discounts. However, please note that there's a discount cap of 25% on our policies. If the total discount amount stays below this cap, you can combine discounts.

What happens to the funds I've earned under the old Healthy Pet Deductible program

Unfortunately, any funds earned under the old program will be forfeited. However, we believe that the savings and benefits you'll receive under our new program will more than make up for it. However, for those who previously earned a Healthy Pet Deductible Credit and went two years with $300 or less in claims reimbursements, you'll automatically earn a 10% discount in your first year!

What happens if I receive a reimbursement of more than $300—will I lose my premium discounts?

Yes, your premium discounts will end once your reimbursements equal $300 for the prior discount period —whether that happens with one single reimbursement, or over time through smaller reimbursements that total $300 or more. Your discount period starts 7 days before your policy renewal notice is emailed to you and ends one year to the day of that 7-day notice.

Will the discount be applied to all my pets?

Yes, the discount will be applied to each of your pets individually, as long as each pet’s reimbursements for the prior discount period is $300 or less. The discount starts at 5% in the first year and increases to 10% in the second year, per pet. Your discount period starts 7 days before your policy renewal notice is emailed to you, and ends one year to the day of that 7-day notice.

What if I add another pet in the middle of my policy? When will they be eligible for a discount?

A pet added mid-policy will not begin accruing the discount until they have been insured a full policy term.
