Cat Attacked by Coyote
If not for the quick work of her dad, Maxine would have been whisked away by a coyote.
Vet Bill: $3,572
Background
An opportunistic coyote saw Maxine being let out of the house one morning and jumped at the chance to grab an easy target. Luckily, Maxine's pet parents heard the melee and ran to her rescue.
Maxine's pet parent, Janice W., tells her story:
"Our vet recommended Embrace to us when we first got Maxine. Our previous cat, Jazzy, was old and had kidney disease. We did not have pet insurance for Jazzy and the expenses for her necessary care really added up.
One early morning in August, Maxine was let out as usual. My husband heard a "galloping" sound across our deck. He went outside to investigate and found Maxine in the mouth of a coyote. My husband was able to block the coyote from leaving the yard with Maxine. The coyote dropped Maxine and ran off in one direction and Maxine ran off in another direction. She came back home 12 hours later in very bad shape. She had a bite out of her tail, a broken rib, puncture wounds - one of which penetrated her stomach - and a massive infection. Her fur had been ripped from her body without actually tearing away. She needed surgery and was a very sick girl for quite a while.
Our claims were paid very quickly and we were kept up to date almost daily while claims were being processed. I have been telling friends about Embrace since this happened. I will NEVER be without Embrace Pet Insurance and their support through our emergency!"
