Cat's leg broken in freak accident
Poor Gilbert got himself into a heap of trouble.
Vet Bill: $4,061
Background
Accidents happen. That much we can be sure of and we've seen our fair share of random accidents here at Embrace. Gilbert, a gorgeous cat from Seattle, Washington knows all too well that if it could potentially happen, it probably will unfortunately.
Gilbert's owner Patti shares her story:
"At 2am, I woke to my cat, Gilbert, screaming from the kitchen. I found him dangling by a kitchen drawer handle from his rear, left foot. Needless to say, it was an unexpected, freak accident. One for which I wasn't sure how I would pay. I brought Gilbert to the emergency vet where he was given pain medication. The radiographs indicated a clean break across all four metatarsals. He would need surgery to save the foot. Estimated cost was $4000.
Did I have pet insurance, the vet asked? At that point I may or may not have jumped up and down, "Price is Right" style. Yes! I'd nearly forgotten! I did have pet insurance! The folks at Embrace were prompt, professional, helpful and friendly. The insurance covered nearly $2900! The insurance was painless enough to pay for that I'd nearly forgotten about it, and it saved Gilbert's foot! I now encourage all of my pet-parent friends to get insurance - and I can't recommend Embrace highly enough!"
According to Patti, Gilbert is doing great and recovering nicely.
